Rep. Bilirakis Applauds House Vote to Reduce Spending

Washington, DC (February 19, 2011) – Rep. Gus Bilirakis (FL-09) issued the following statement after the House passed legislation to set government spending levels for 2011 at $100 billion below the President's budget:

"After days of unprecedented open and transparent debate, House Republicans have taken another step toward cutting the size of our government and eliminating burdensome regulations," Bilirakis said. "This was one of the largest spending cuts in history, yet this is just one of many steps that we need – and plan – to take in order to help restore the confidence of America's taxpayers, families and small businesses."
