Bilirakis Honors Local Heroes
New Port Richey, FL: Tonight, U.S. Congressman Gus Bilirakis will hold his annual Heroes Among Us Celebration in which he will recognize and celebrate the contributions of 92 incredible volunteers who support local non-profit and government entities in Florida’s 12th Congressional District, which includes all of Citrus and Hernando and parts of Pasco Counties. All local government entities and non-profit organizations throughout the district were invited to nominate individuals whose hard work and dedication have made a profound impact on the community.
“I was inspired when reading the submissions that were sent in as nominations. From a Veteran with PTS mentoring others as they return from the battlefield, to a retired nurse who has found a way to continue providing critical health coaching for chronically ill patients even after she has lost her own vision, to parents of an autistic child funding classroom renovations in public schools which are designed to ensure children of all ability levels reach their highest potential…the individuals who are being honored truly represent the best of the best in our community,” said Congressman Gus Bilirakis. “They’ve given of their time, talent and treasure. At a time when we could all use a reminder of the good that takes place each and every day in communities across the country, I am honored to help celebrate the impact that these every day heroes are making.”
