On Friday, Gus presented the Plant City Police Department (PCPD) with more than $131,000 in federal funding specifically requested by the Congressman for the purchase of crime fighting technology, including digital cameras and laptop computers.
These federal funds were included in recent federal spending legislation signed into law in December 2007.
Gus met with members of the Pinellas County government in his Capitol Hill office on Thursday to discuss the County's federal legislative priorities for 2008 and various issues facing Pinellas County residents.
"While the President has proposed a budget that helps to secure our borders, properly provides for our troops and gives much needed permanent tax relief and economic stimulus, I do believe that some of the President's proposed cuts are unjustified.
