(Washington, DC) – Today, Representatives Annie Kuster (D-NH), Gus Bilirakis (R-FL), Scott Peters (D-CA), and Mike Coffman (R-CO), all of whom are members of the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, and long-term champions for veterans and strong supporters of community health centers, introduced the VA Community Care Enhancement Act to expand access to healthcare services for veteran
“I am heartbroken by this senseless act of violence. My thoughts and prayers are with the families of those who lost their lives and with the victims who were injured and traumatized by this tragedy. Despite the attempts by some to sensationalize this tragic issue, we can all agree it highlights the fact that we have a broken mental health system.
Washington, DC: This morning, an initiative authored by Congressman Bilirakis that permanently eliminates the annual limit on per patient therapy expenditures in Medicare became law. The prior law limited services such as physical, occupational or speech therapy to a maximum of $2,010 per year.
“This morning’s vote was difficult for me. I had to balance my serious concerns about adding to the deficit with the multitude of provisions in the bill that will have a tangible positive impact of the lives of my constituents.
