Bilirakis Continues His Advocacy of Ridge Road Extension Project
Washington, DC: This week Congressman Gus Bilirakis joined countless Pasco residents and community leaders in voicing his continued strong support of the Ridge Road Extension project that is currently under review by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The Corps had established a public comment period and was seeking input from stakeholders. This advocacy is just the latest in the Congressman’s ongoing efforts to advance this important public safety priority. Currently, there are only two east-west arterial roads in Pasco County. This would add a third, ensuring improved access for first responders, a quicker evacuation route and more efficient inter-county travel. As an added bonus, this critical infrastructure project will support economic development in a high growth area of our community. For a copy of his letter to the Corps, click here.
“As I visit with various groups in the community, the topic of Ridge Road expansion inevitably arises. The vast majority of my constituents support this important project and believe it will be extremely beneficial. In addition to this week’s letter to the Corps, I have hosted countless meetings between Corps’ leadership and local officials. In the past year, the project’s review has made tremendous strides. The agency understands that this is a priority for me and for our community. They have committed to a continued expedited review process. I look forward to the day when we break ground on this project,” said Bilirakis.
