SUMMER IN FL- 12
This past month, I spent time travelling around FL-12 to meet with constituents and visit local business and organizations. Here are some highlights from August 2015:
I joined the American Vitiligo Research Foundation on their visit to the Clearwater Marine Aquarium. Nicholas the dolphin served as an inspiration for the kids because, like them, he has a skin condition that has left him with skin discoloration. These kids were thrilled by his high-flying antics!
I was honored to receive an award at the West Pasco Chamber of Commerce Annual Awards and Installation Banquet.
I hosted a town hall meeting with FL State Senator Wilton Simpson and State Rep. Danny Burgess in Dade City. As the Laker-Lutz News reports, we covered a wide range of important issuesfrom education, to Veteran services, to cyber security.
I had the honor of meeting with the State of Florida's Veterans of Foreign Wars leadership. These brave men and women of service are an inspiration to us all.
I enjoyed visiting OldCastle Coastal, a concrete manufacturer in Zephyrhills. Our local businesses do so much for the community and I'm grateful for all their hard work.
Pasco county residents from Port Richey watershed participated in the county's town hall meeting on flooding. The flooding in the area has been devastating for many constituents and I will continue to work with officials at all levels to provide relief for flood victims.
The Tampa Airport unveiled details about a massive construction project which will bring an estimated 2,132 jobs to the region while doubling the capacity of the facility. As the airport continues to attract new international routes, residents will have more travel options and the area will benefit from increased tourism.
