VOW Act Applications Now Being Accepted
The unemployment situation in the United States continues to remain a top priority for Gus. But there are nearly 900,000 unemployed veterans in the U.S., and nearly one in twelve of our nation's heroes can't find a job to support their family, don't have an income that provides stability, and don't have work that provides them with the confidence and pride that is critical to their transition home.
The "VOW to Hire Heroes Act" is bipartisan, bicameral, comprehensive legislation that will help lower the rate of unemployment among our nation's veterans by providing opportunities for education and training that will help veterans transition into the civilian workplace.
As part of the "VOW to Hire Heroes Act," starting this week, unemployed veterans ages 35-60 can apply for retraining under the Montgomery GI Bill for in-demand jobs. To learn more about the program, eligibility, and important dates, please click here. Be sure to spread the word to other veterans.
