WWII Veterans Visit DC Memorial

May 4, 2011

Nearly 25 World War II veterans from the Tampa Bay area were able to fly to Washington, DC, on May 3, 2011 to spend time at the World War II Memorial. The trip was arranged by the Honor Flight Network, a non-profit program founded five years ago to bring WWII veterans to visit the nation's capital. The WWII Memorial was completed in 2004, so many veterans have not had the opportunity to visit their memorial.

Gus greeted the veterans as they arrived at the memorial, and thanked them for their heroic service to our country.
