Bilirakis and Colleagues File Amicus Brief to Protect Americans’ Right to Choose President
Washington, DC: Earlier Today, Representative Gus Bilirakis, Leader Scalise and 134 Representatives, along with Senator Ted Cruz and 41 Senators filed a Supreme Court (SCOTUS) amicus brief in the case of Donald J. Trump v. Norma Anderson in which SCOTUSis weighing whether former President Donald Trump should remain on the ballot in the State of Colorado, after the Colorado Supreme Court ruled that he should be removed.
“The Colorado Court is attempting to subvert the will of the people. Americans deserve the right to elect their chosen leader,” said Bilirakis. “If allowed to stand, this ruling would set a dangerous precedent that would strip Congress of its Constitutional authority and undermine confidence in our elections process. I’m proud to be helping lead the charge to help preserve our Republic.”
