Bilirakis Announces Congressional App Challenge Winner from Pasco County
Land O’Lakes High School Student designed the winning app “Student Toolbox”
U.S. Rep. Gus Bilirakis announced today that Nikhil Dutt, a senior at Land O’Lakes High School, has won the Congressional App Challenge for Florida’s 12th District. Nikhil’s winning app, entitled “Student Toolbox,” is a software program that helps students organize their schoolwork and connect with teachers and peers. “Congratulations to Nikhil for this exciting achievement,” said Bilirakis. “I am very impressed with Nikhil’s app, and can envision ‘Student Toolbox’ being used by high school students across the country. Coding and app development are important skills for the 21st century, and it is great to see these skills being embraced right here in Pasco County.”
The Congressional App Challenge is a nationwide competition for students to design their own original smartphone or desktop apps, and promotes computer science and STEM education in schools.
