Bilirakis Applauds Passage of Keep Your Health Plan Act

"The President repeatedly promised the American people that if they liked their health care plans, they would be able to keep them under Obamacare," said Bilirakis. "As millions of hardworking Americans receive notices that their health care plans have been cancelled due to the new health care law, this legislation will give them the peace of mind they deserve."

In Florida alone, 300,000 individuals have received notices that their health plans have been cancelled due to Obamacare.

President Obama responded to the bipartisan, bicameral legislation with a press conference yesterday, where he announced that state insurance regulators will now be able to decide whether their individual state will permit insurance companies to continue to offer health plans that were cancelled due to Obamacare. Following the press conference, Florida Blue indicated that the 300,000 individuals who lost their plans in Florida will now be able to stay on their current health care plans if they choose to. The Keep Your Plan Act will provide this same peace of mind to all Americans.
