Bilirakis Condemns Terrorist Attacks in Brussels

March 23, 2016

The U.S. House of Representatives today approved legislation condemning in the strongest terms the terrorist attacks in Brussels carried out by radical Islamist terrorists. This week, Belgium's capital city was rocked by explosions in the Brussels airport and a key subway station. This was the second major terror attack in a European city in the last five months, killing 30 and injuring hundreds of others.

Congressman Gus Biliriakis (R-FL) released the following statement:

"Today, we formally pledged support for Belgium and unequivocally declared that ISIS poses a threat to the universal value of freedom," said Bilriakis. "Terrorists and their enablers must be vanquished. The bloodshed of innocents, here or abroad, at the hands of extremists must be stopped. I express my deepest condolences for those killed and injured during this week's horrible attack and will continue to keep the people of Brussels in my thoughts and prayers. I am proud we passed this bill today and I remain committed to standing with our allies in this fight against terrorism."
