Bilirakis Defends Americans’ 2nd Amendment Rights

Washington, DC: In a letter to the Acting Director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), Mr. Marvin Richardson, Congressman Gus Bilirakis and his colleagues condemned the Biden Administration's continued assault on Americans' Second Amendment rights. The lawmakers pushed back on the ATF's most recent egregious example of government overreach; attempting to restrict the ability of law-abiding Americans to make their own silencers. This latest attempt to expand the definition of a silencer is contrary to years of ATF precedent and is beyond the scope of the agency's authority under federal law.

"I cannot sit by silently as the Biden Administration continually attempts to erode the Constitutional Rights of law abiding citizens," said Congressman Gus Bilirakis. "We must never allow radical, liberal bureaucrats to legislate through agency rule. Rest assured, I will always fiercely defend the Second Amendment along with our other civil liberties."
