Bilirakis Lauds Successful Rescue of Local Child on Floor of U.S. House of Representatives
Washington, DC: Earlier today, U.S. Congressman Gus Bilirakis spoke on the House Floor to honor the remarkable rescue efforts of Hernando County Sheriff Al Nienhuis, law enforcement officials, and hundreds of volunteers as part of a mobilized effort to find JJ Rowland, a two-year old from Brooksville, Florida, who had gone missing from his home. Their miraculous efforts resulted in volunteers finding the missing child safe and sound more than 24 hours after his initial disappearance. In addition to recognizing the Herculean effort by the entire community, Bilirakis honored Marine Corps Veteran, Roy Link, who found the toddler in a wooded area almost two miles away from home. Additionally, Bilirakis remarked on the pride he feels to represent such a loving and faithful community.
