Bilirakis Meets With Local Healthcare Providers and Senior Advocates

Springhill, FL - As part of his commitment to ensure better, healthier and longer lives for all Americans, Congressman Bilirakis recetly met with a group of healthcare providers and senior healthcare advocates from Pasco and Hernando counties. The group discussed the importance of preserving quality, affordable healthcare options for seniors, including Medicare Advantage (MA). Bilirakis, who has proven to be a staunch supporter of MA, pledged his desire to enhance the the program. "More than half of the seniors in my district choose to participate in MA, said Congressman Gus Bilirakis. "I will continue fighting to preserve this option for them."

The group also discussed the importance of addressing other issues impacting seniors' health outcomes including: the need to reduce the price of prescription drugs, to increase support for programs that tackle food insecurity such as Meals on Wheels, and the success of programs offered through the Area Agencies on Aging which help seniors live independently in their homes for as long as possible.
