Bilirakis Praises Senate-passage of Flood Insurance Reform

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Bilirakis (R-FL) applauded the Senate's passage this evening of the Homeowner Flood Insurance Affordability Act.

"I am proud to have been an integral part of this bipartisan, bicameral effort; this is how Congress should work. This bill's passage is a victory for the American people. Leader Cantor showed tremendous leadership to get this legislation passed in the House," Bilirakis said. "My constituents and Americans across the country need immediate relief. I am pleased the Senate swiftly passed the House legislation, which reduced the financial burden of the rate increases and kept in place the positive reforms to the National Flood Insurance program. The President should sign the Homeowner Flood Insurance Affordability Act into law without delay."
