Bilirakis: President's Budget Does Too Little Too Late

"Americans deserve real solutions, and the President's proposal sent forth today does too little too late.

"We have waited more than two months for the President to unveil his vision for our country's economic future, and today, Americans are left with more of the same. Higher taxes, more spending and bigger government will only make it more difficult for hardworking Americans to find jobs. Our country cannot continue to spend money it doesn't have; money it hasn't had for a long time.

"The House passed a balanced budget earlier this year that will foster a healthier economy, create opportunity and put our country on a sustainable fiscal path. It also preserves programs like Social Security and Medicare for current seniors and future generations – reforms the President's budget has held hostage to more tax hikes."
