Bilirakis Statement on the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion & Abortion Insurance Full Disclosure

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Gus Bilirakis (R-FL), today released the following statement upon the House's bipartisan passage of H.R. 7, the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion and Abortion Insurance Full Disclosure Act. H.R. 7 prevents any federal funds, including premium tax credits and cost-sharing subsidies under the President's health care law, from being used to provide elective abortion services.

"Today, I stood with a bipartisan group of my colleagues and voted for life. I am also pleased to stand with a majority of Americans who believe that federal funds should not be used for elective abortion. I am a proud father of four sons, and I know the potential of each human life, and the positive impact they can make on the world. This was a vote about protecting life, and that is a vote I am proud to make."
