Bilirakis Statement on Passage of Obamacare Repeal Resolution

January 13, 2017

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Representative Gus Bilirakis (FL-12), a member of the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Health, applauded the passage of the budget resolution to begin the process to repeal and replace Obamacare.

“With today’s vote, we can finally start the open and transparent process of repealing and replacing Obamacare. I look forward to gathering input from constituents and stakeholders from Florida’s 12th District every step of the way,” said Bilirakis. “The people of Florida and our nation deserve a health care system that is high-quality, affordable, and puts patients back in control. The budget resolution we passed today gives us the tools to do exactly that.”

The resolution, S. Con. Res. 3, provides instructions to House and Senate Committees to begin work on legislation for Obamacare repeal and replacement. The House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Health, where Bilirakis serves, has primary jurisdiction over most of Obamacare’s key provisions.
