Bilirakis Statement on Resignation of Speaker John Boehner

I am grateful to Speaker John Boehner for his service to our country. While we did not always see eye to eye, he was a man of integrity and I honestly believe Speaker Boehner did his very best to listen to the American people and deliver solutions during a difficult period in our nation's history.

As we prepare for new leadership, I remain optimistic. I look forward to a leader who will build upon efforts to help us better promote our conservative values. We must effectively communicate our vision and unite Congress in order to deliver on our promise to produce solutions to the many challenges we face.

I will continue to fight for a less costly and more accountable federal government, while working to protect our communities, small businesses, and families. With a focus on what matters most, meeting the needs of the people we serve, I am confident that the future is bright. I look forward to working alongside my colleagues to secure results for our constituents and our country.
