Bilirakis Votes to Fix #BrokenPromises in President's Health Law
"When the President said, ‘if you like your plan, you can keep it,' that was deemed PolitiFact's Lie of the Year. Then, millions of Americans across the country in the individual market received cancellation notices; they felt the impacts of the broken promises of the President's health care law," Bilirakis said.
"Now, the specter of cancellations looms again. Up to 50 million people who get health care through their employer could have their plan cancelled or disrupted because of rules and regulations in the President's health care law. If one of my constituents wants to keep their plan, they should be able to. Enough broken promises."
Nearly one year ago, the House passed H.R. 3350, the Keep Your Health Plan Act of 2013 in bipartisan fashion. H.R 3350 allows plans on the individual market that were cancelled because of regulations in the President's health care law to continue to be sold in 2014. The Senate has yet to consider this legislation. To view the entirety of Congressman Bilirakis' remarks, click here.
