Congressman Bilirakis Responds to President Trump’s State of the Union Address

Representative Gus Bilirakis (FL-12) released the following statement tonight in response to President Donald J. Trump’s State of the Union Address:

“President Trump is leading the great American comeback. The State of our Union is strong and growing stronger, and Americans are beginning to see the results of our America First agenda. Seniors can claim a new $6,000 deduction. Families are benefiting from an enhanced Child Tax Credit and children’s savings accounts. Workers keep more of what they earn with no taxes on overtime or tips. Tax returns are up, gas prices are down, inflation is cooling, and our border is secure. Just like the American hockey teams and other great American patriots in the gallery showed with their hard-fought victories -grit, determination, and belief in our country make all the difference. That same fighting spirit is driving our national resurgence. And as we approach United States Semiquincentennial - America 250 - we are reminded that 250 years of freedom, sacrifice, and exceptionalism have prepared us for this moment. We honor our past by boldly shaping our future. This is only the beginning. Together, we will continue building a safer, stronger, and more prosperous nation for generations to come.”

Congressman Bilirakis emphasized that the policies outlined by the President are already making a meaningful impact for families, seniors, small businesses, and workers across Florida’s 12th Congressional District and throughout the nation. He reaffirmed his commitment to advancing pro-growth economic policies, strengthening border security, supporting American energy independence, and ensuring that hardworking taxpayers keep more of their hard-earned income.
