House Votes to Restore Americans’ Health Care Freedom
The U.S. House of Representatives today advanced H.R. 3762, the Restoring Americans' Healthcare Freedom Reconciliation Act to protect patients, families, taxpayers, health care providers, and communities across the nation.
"This legislation continues our efforts to protect Americans from an overreaching administration," said Congressman Gus Bilirakis (R-FL). "This bill will lift the burdens of the President's health care law and give back the power over health care decisions to individual patients and families. This is a huge step in the right direction – a step towards a more patient-centered health care system."
The Restoring Americans' Healthcare Freedom Reconciliation Act will also protect the unborn by ending federal funding for Planned Parenthood following their unethical and potentially illegal sale of fetal tissue.
"Our taxpayer dollars should not fund organizations whose behavior does not fall in line with our values," added Bilirakis. "This legislation gives us the opportunity to save the lives of our nation's most vulnerable and assures the American people that their money is not funding unethical practices. This bill invests in community health centers to promote greater access to care for individuals and families and helps to better equip states in their efforts to address substance abuse and mental health crises."
This will be the first time the reconciliation legislation will head to the President's desk for consideration. To learn more about this bill, click here.
