Rep. Bilirakis to Host April 27 Career Fair

April 5, 2011

"Florida's unemployment rate remains one of the highest in the country, so we must do all we can to connect those who are out of work with employers," Bilirakis said. "This career fair will serve as an excellent opportunity for those in search of jobs to meet with potential employers in the area."

The Career Fair is free and open to the public. Job-seekers should dress professionally, bring plenty of resumes, and prepare for potential interview situations.

"I've held small business roundtables throughout the Tampa Bay area, and what I hear over and over again is that excessive government spending, taxes and regulations are keeping small businesses from hiring," Bilirakis said. "We need to simplify the tax code, create stability in the economy and let businesses and families keep more of their hard-earned dollars in order to help put people back to work."
