Rep. Bilirakis Supports TRAIN Act to Prevent Burdensome and Costly Regulations

H.R. 2401, the Transparency in Regulatory Analysis of Impacts on the Nation (TRAIN) Act, would help prevent burdensome regulations that leave businesses hanging on by a thread. The act would evaluate how various regulations proposed or implemented by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) would impact the economy.

"As a Floridian, I know how important clean water, clean air and a safe environment are to Florida's economy," Bilirakis said. "But these are historically tough economic times for Floridians and we must ensure that any regulations add value and don't negatively impact our fragile economy. Burdensome federal mandates can stunt economic growth, and the government must evaluate their impact before we move forward."
