Reps. Bilirakis & Young Receive ‘Spirit of Enterprise' Award from U.S. Chamber of Commerce
The Chamber's prestigious award is given annually to members of Congress based on key votes that will reduce burdensome regulations, create jobs and improve the economy, such as repealing onerous 1099 reporting requirements, repealing a 3 percent withholding from contractors, and passing free trade agreements.
Bilirakis said: "I would like to thank the U.S. Chamber for this award, as I truly appreciate it. I listen to dozens of job creators and employees throughout the Tampa Bay area and continuously work to promote ideas that will help them and eliminate obstacles that hurt them. The House of Representatives has passed dozens of bills aimed at empowering entrepreneurs, reducing taxes and restoring confidence in our economy, and we will continue working to promote growth and prosperity."
Young said: "Allowing job creation to happen must be our first priority in Congress, which means we must adopt policies that encourage business growth and investment. I am proud to receive the 'Spirit of Enterprise' award and will continue working with my colleagues to introduce certainty into the economy, creating an environment where American businesses and job creators can succeed."
