Washington DC: Earlier today, Chairman Gus Bilirakis released text of the Fairness Accountability and Integrity in Representation of College Sports Act (FAIR College Sports Act). This legislation would preempt current and future state-level name, image, and likeness (NIL) laws to ensure there is one national framework to govern how collegiate athletes receive compensation for such activities.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The co-chairs of the Congressional Diabetes Caucus, U.S. Representatives Gus Bilirakis (R-FL) and  Diana DeGette (D-CO) sent a letter today to the head of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) urging the agency to revise its current coverage criteria for Continuous Glucose Monitors.  The goals is for more Veterans with diabetes to have access to the promising new technology that is helping millions of people across the country better manage the disease.

Land O’ Lakes, FL:  Congressman Gus Bilirakis is proud to announce that Madeline Teague, a senior at Hernando High School, has won the Best in Show at the 2023 Congressional Art Competition, which was held in Land O’ Lakes last night. The title of Miss Teague’s artwork, which uses oil, acrylic and glitter is Amour.  As the overall winner, Miss Teague has won a trip to Washington, D.C.

Washington, DC:  At the request of their constituents, Representatives Gus Bilirakis and John Garamendi proudly introduced bipartisan legislation today that will create a 100th anniversary commemorative coin for the Fleet Reserve Association. This legislation would direct the Department of Treasury to mint a coin to commemorate the centennial of the foundation and charter of the FRA in 1924, at no cost to American taxpayers.
