"Healthcare.gov has been plagued with errors since day one. Unfortunately, it is no surprise Healthcare.gov was hacked which potentially jeopardizes the personally identifiable information of Americans. I saw this coming, which is why I introduced H.R. 3795, the One Hour Notification (OH No) Act, in December of 2013," Bilirakis said.

"I have spent the past several years fighting for a new consolidated clinic in Pasco county. Our Veterans deserve the absolute best healthcare possible, and consolidation of the five VA clinics will enhance the accessibility to a centralized and convenient point of care," Bilirakis said. "Although the final decision on the location remains in the hands of the VA, I feel it is my duty to solicit opinions from Veterans and their families within our communities.

The first event, called "Patients and the Patient Perspective," is at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Bethany Center, 18150 Bethany Center Dr., Lutz. The roundtable will feature representatives from the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, the Alpha-1 Foundation, the Parent Project for Muscular Dystrophy, the ALS Association's Florida chapter and two dysautonomia patient advocates.

ICYMI: Gus Bilirakis to Host Patient Care Round-tables in Lutz

U.S. Rep. Gus Bilirakis, R-Fla., announced on Thursday that he will hold two round-table events in Lutz later this month to focus on better patient care. Bilirakis sits on the U.S. House Energy and Commerce Committee's Health Subcommittee.

"Whether through medical devices or medicine, treatments for patients suffering from chronic and rare diseases are driven by the three D's: discovery on the ground level through basic science; development into a practical, usable, and marketable product; and delivery to the patients, so that the treatment may be utilized effectively," said Bilirakis.
