"CMS is clearly subverting the intent and letter of the law passed by Congress by needlessly inserting themselves into the Medicare Part D program," Bilirakis said. "CMS justifies their intrusion as a cost-saving measure because they claim their proposed rules will reduce fraud and abuse, among other aspects. Medicare Part D is a wildly successful program, and there are better ways to save money in the Part D program than enacting rules that will reduce seniors' access to affordable medications and increase premiums."
"The report is clear. The CMS Actuary estimates 65 percent of small businesses will be forced to increase their premiums as a direct result of Obamacare. That is roughly 11 million people. Small businesses are a cornerstone of economic growth in this country. To saddle them with increased health care costs will reduce their capacity to hire or expand," said Bilirakis. "The Administration talks about creating jobs and lowering health care costs, but their policies do the exact opposite.
"The Express Employment Professionals, the largest private staffing firm in the country, conducted a survey that found that, in order to elude being subjected to the Employer Mandate, 70% of businesses with 45-49 employees will avoid hiring to stay under the 50-employee mark. It also found that 60% believe Obamacare will lead to less job creation," said Bilirakis.
"My constituents cannot afford for Congress to kick the can down the road. I whole-heartedly support a delay of the astronomical increases to flood insurance rates, while pushing for a permanent legislative fix. It is clear FEMA did not consider affordability to homeowners when implementing the law; Congressional action is necessary."

"The Obama Administration continues to ignore the provisions of its own law," said Bilirakis. "The dates of implementation for the Employer Mandate were written into the statute. The Obama Administration has simply ignored these provisions. This is tacit confirmation and incontrovertible proof that the law is unworkable. When the Obama Administration starts ignoring its own deadlines, it is a clear sign this law was never ready for prime time."
"Excessive government spending is one of the most serious and pressing concerns our nation faces. Washington's culture of spending must end. Spending money we do not have and thereby placing this financial burden on the backs of our children and grandchildren is irresponsible and wrong. High levels of government spending have debilitated economies around the globe, and will continue to negatively impact the American economy until we taken definitive action. Every day, my constituents have to make difficult decisions and prioritize spending for their families.
"It is imperative that we keep our promise to the members of the armed services who have sacrificed so much for our country," said Bilirakis. "Military retirees have bravely served and made enormous personal sacrifices. Our country promised these retirement pensions to military retirees. I am pleased to see that Congress is able to honor that commitment."

"As we embark on the sad 41st anniversary of the Roe vs. Wade decision, we pause to remember and mourn the millions of children whose lives have been cut short due to selective procedures. This commemoration is especially disheartening knowing that the implementation of Obamacare forces abortifacients and contraceptive coverage to be included in all health care plans as a preventative service - similar to a disease. This is a distorted view of children and families and an attack on our religious liberties. In addition, it further erodes the traditional family values we hold dear.
