The $516 billion omnibus spending bill, which includes eleven separate appropriations measures and will fund 14 Cabinet agencies, was approved by the U.S. House of Representatives by a vote of 253-154.
Congressman Bilirakis was dismayed over the way in which the bill was brought up before the House by the Majority.

The AFG Program awards one-year grants directly to fire departments to support the nation's firefighters in their service to their communities. The FY 2007 program provides approximately $490 million in competitive grants to fire departments and nonaffiliated EMS organizations.
An act of vandalism to a 30-mile-long anhydrous ammonia pipeline in Riverview, Fla., has raised serious concerns about pipeline security. On Nov. 13, three teenage boys had drilled a hole into the pipeline in an alleged search for money. The leak resulted in the release of a noxious chemical cloud and the evacuation of thousands of local Hillsborough residents.
During questioning on the subject of the hearing, which was about reported TSA negligencein undermining airport security review, Bilirakis notified Hawley thathe wants a prompt response from his Agency, which assists the U.S.Department of Transportation in the security of the nation's pipelines.
