"The Affordable Care Act, better known as Obamacare, forces businesses to provide abortifacients as part of their health insurance. For business owners who believe that life starts at conception, this aspect of the ACA violates their religious principles. No individual should be forced to violate their religious beliefs," Bilirakis said.

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Bilirakis (R-FL) applauded the Senate's passage this evening of the Homeowner Flood Insurance Affordability Act.
That's what Rep. Gus Bilirakis wants to know.
Bilirakis, vice-chair of the House Veterans Affairs Committee, introduced a new bill – H.R. 4151 – that calls for a study of how veterans use their benefits.
"Competition in Medicare Part D among insurers keeps prices down and quality up. There are over 1,100 plans offered nationwide. Seniors can choose the plans that provide the medicines they need at the best value," Bilirakis said. "Part D works. Prescription drug premiums under Part D have increased one dollar a year the last 5 years – far less than inflation.
"The first step in making positive changes to a program is to fully understand its benefits and drawbacks. My legislation will require the VA to contract with a third party to conduct a comprehensive study of all veterans' experiences using their education benefits under the GI Bill," Bilirakis said. "This study will allow Congress and the VA to know what works and what doesn't.
"When Biggert-Waters was passed in 2012, its reforms were not intended to cause the dramatic premium increases that homeowners are currently experiencing. Some Floridians have been quoted annual premiums in the tens of thousands of dollars, which is an untenable financial burden, particularly during these difficult economic times.
