ICYMI: Gus Bilirakis to Host Patient Care Round-tables in Lutz
U.S. Rep. Gus Bilirakis, R-Fla., announced on Thursday that he will hold two round-table events in Lutz later this month to focus on better patient care. Bilirakis sits on the U.S. House Energy and Commerce Committee's Health Subcommittee.
"Whether through medical devices or medicine, treatments for patients suffering from chronic and rare diseases are driven by the three D's: discovery on the ground level through basic science; development into a practical, usable, and marketable product; and delivery to the patients, so that the treatment may be utilized effectively," said Bilirakis.

My Aunt Ruth was a remarkable lady, active and strong well into her retirement years. Even when she was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, doctors told her not to worry. They told her it would take many years, if ever, before she would feel the full effects.
The doctors were wrong.

"As a second generation Greek American, I have a firsthand understanding of the importance and power of the American dream, as well as, the sensitivity and passion surrounding the issue of immigration reform. This matter becomes even more delicate when it involves minors, who must always be dealt with in a thoughtful, compassionate and fair manner," Bilirakis said.

"The outrageous rhetoric being attributed to Prime Minister Erdogan in his recent public speeches and interviews is par for the course. Accusing the State of Israel of engaging in systematic genocide and calling the country a terror state is not only wildly inaccurate, but laughable coming from a leader who has exhibited hostility to the rule of law by depriving his own citizens basic human rights such as freedom of religion, freedom of expression, and freedom of speech.
"Tourism is an integral part of our economy – especially in Florida. Increased tourism means more American and Floridian jobs. My legislation – H.R. 4450, the Travel Promotion, Enhancement, and Modernization Act – means job growth without utilizing a dime of taxpayer dollars. Millions of Americans across the country are still struggling, and H.R. 4450 will help them get back to work. Brand USA reauthorization is a jobs bill," Bilirakis declared.
