Butterfield (NC-01) and Gus Bilirakis (FL-12), co-chairs of the Rare Disease Congressional Caucus have introduced H.Res. 242 which celebrates the Orphan Drug Act and the over 750 therapies for rare diseases approved since the Act's enactment. The Congressmen announced this Resolution shortly after Rare Disease Day was celebrated by hundreds of advocates across the country.

Washington, DC: Just weeks after being named the most effective legislator in Florida, Congressman Gus Bilirakis was listed as one of the most bipartisan members of Congress for the most recent legislative session, according to the Lugar Center Bipartisan Index rankings released earlier today. Bilirakis ranked 45^th out of the 435 Members of the House of Representatives, placing him in the top 12% for bipartisanship. The Lugar Center, led by former U.S. Senator Richard Lugar, measures the degree to which Senators and Representatives work across party lines.

Washington, DC- The Center for Effective Lawmaking recently issued Legislative Effectiveness Scores for the 115^th Congress (2017-2018) based upon its independent analysis of legislative performance. During this time period the organization ranked Congressman Gus Bilirakis as Florida's most effective legislator, and the 39^th overall most effective Republican lawmaker in the U.S. House of Representatives. The Center notes that Bilirakis's performance exceeded expectations when considering factors such as level of seniority and leadership posts.

Congressman Gus Bilirakis is proud to announce that Pasco County Schools, in collaboration with Youth and Family Alternatives and Premier Community Health Center, has just received $100,000 in federal funding to enhance its efforts to improve the physical and mental health of students and families in the Holiday area. These services are delivered through the School Based Health Center, which is located at Gulfside Elementary, a Community Partnership School. The current program has provided dental services to approximately 500 students within surrounding neighborhoods.
