Washington, DC -  In today’s Health Subcommittee markup, members passed 21 bipartisan bills to help ensure seniors on Medicare have access to the treatments and equipment that give them the best chance of improved quality of life, and that providers have the stability needed to ensure they can provide the best possible care to patients.  Three of those bills were co-authored by U.S. Congressman Gus Bilirakis.  More information about each measure is provided below.

(Washington, D.C.) – Representatives Gus Bilirakis (R-FL), Suzanne Bonamici (D-OR), Glenn Grothman (R-WI), Joe Morelle (D-NY), Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA), Brian Higgins (D-NY), and Doris Matsui (D-CA) are co-leading the Cancer Drug Parity Act, which was introduced earlier today in the House.  This bill lowers costs for cancer patients who are prescribed oral medications by requiring that health insurers provide coverage for oral cancer treatments that is equivalent to conventional intravenous (IV) treatments.
