WASHINGTON, DC (December 13, 2010) – Last week, Gus sent a letter to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton urging her to label Venezuela as a state sponsor of terrorism and investigate its government (read the letter here).


Venezuela recently collaborated with Iran to establish a military base armed with medium-range missiles that could reach the U.S., according to reports.

Washington, DC (December 13, 2010) – Rep. Gus Bilirakis (FL-09) today issued the following statement in support of the ruling by U.S. District Court Judge Henry Hudson that declared the Democrats' health care law unconstitutional because it mandates that every American buy health insurance or pay a fine.

"Today's ruling reaffirms what the American people have been saying from day one: Obamacare is a job-killing takeover of our health care system that unconstitutionally forces people to buy health insurance," Bilirakis said.

WASHINGTON, DC (December 3, 2010) – Less than 24 hours after Democrats passed a job-killing tax hike, news that the nation's unemployment rate jumped to 9.8 percent should serve as a resounding alarm that these current tax and spend policies are not working to restore America's economy.


"Simply talking about the need to create jobs won't help as long as Democrats pursue these fiscal attacks on our families and businesses," says Gus.

As the December 3 deadline to apply for special retroactive stop-loss pay approaches, Gus is encouraging eligible service members and veterans to contact the Department of Defense for information about receiving benefits.


Military members whose service was involuntarily extended under stop-loss between September 11, 2001, and September 30, 2009, are eligible for additional benefits.
