Washington, D.C. – U.S. Representative Gus Bilirakis (FL-12), a member of the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Health, announced he has co-sponsored legislation to ensure people with pre-existing conditions have access to the health care of their choosing.
Washington, D.C. – The U.S. House of Representatives today unanimously passed the Medical Preparedness Allowable Use Act (H.R. 437) authored by Representative Gus Bilirakis (FL-12) to support first responders and public safety. The legislation secures reliable grant funding for the stockpiling of medical kits and equipment for first responders across the country, ensuring our communities are prepared for any type of emergency.
"As the grandson of immigrants, I believe America has held, and must continue to hold, the longstanding tradition of welcoming those who are willing to work hard and contribute to our nation. I also believe we should have increased vetting of those entering our borders based on national security concerns. The seven countries included in the Executive Order have been identified by the State Department as risks to our national security, and I support efforts to temporarily halt travel as we work to assure the American people we’ve done everything possible to keep them safe.
