Congressman Bilirakis, who was scheduled to host a Behavioral Health Forum and a Veterans Town Hall on August 29, 2023,  has decided to postpone both events due to the projected path and impact of Hurricane Idalia.

Washington, DC:  Earlier this week, Congressman Gus Bilirakis co-sponsored the Passport Modernization Act.  This important legislation will immediately bring wait times down by requiring the hiring of new staff, modernization of the entire system, and setting an appropriate standard of service for compliance with timely responses.

On August 29, 2023, Congressman Gus Bilirakis will be hosting a public forum for residents of Hernando, Citrus and Pasco counties to discuss behavioral health issues.

On August 29, 2023, Congressman Gus Bilirakis will host a town hall for Veterans and their families from Hernando, Citrus and Pasco counties. During this public forum, Bilirakis will be joined by senior leaders from the James A. Haley Veterans Hospital. Bilirakis, recently appointed to serve as Veterans Advisor to U.S.

Earlier this week, President Biden submitted a request to Congress for emergency funding which includes an additional $24 billion in funding for Ukraine.  In the same request, Biden is seeking another $4 billion to address the crisis at the border that has resulted from his Administration’s irresponsible immigration policies. The President is seeking to use a portion of that $4 billion to combat fentanyl flowing into the United States.

Earlier today, U.S. Representatives Gus Bilirakis (R-FL-12) and Rosa DeLauro (D-CT-03) and reintroduced the Strengthening America’s Families Act (SAFA), which would use research and the science of child development to transform the child welfare system.
